Andy Cash a Traveller Family man was left seriously injured and required  an emergency operation to his leg After a Police K9 Unit  savagely attacked him while the police handler looked on, The attack took place infront of his wife and small son and other memebers of the travelling community who had stopped in a field, Which they had permission to be on. The Police were working on the information that the camp was Illegally Parked.

One member of the Community had this to say when they saw the video footage that had been posted all ver the Face book  Media site.

Honestly the emphasis should be on the handler, He is the one that commands the dog, Each handler has a word they use as a key word for the dog to attack therefore he told that dog to attack. He is responsible for the dogs actions, The dog has been told to attack so does but he did not give the command to stop.

The most Horrific part is the policeman dragging the dog and the man  behind the caravan. Not satisfied with his leg bleeding they handcuff him, The Police saying " Make up your mind  are we throwing him in the van or letting him go in the ambulance.

The man was eventually taken to the local hospital where  an examination revealed that the dog had bitten through a main artery in the leg. No charges have been brought against the victim. Incidents like this  just goes to show that racial prejudice DOES exsist within the ranks of some Police Forces. The officer involved has been suspended until an investigation into the horrendous incident has taken place.

However Mike Doherty Editor of the Travellers Times is demanding some answers to his Questions involving the use of K9 Units against Traveller, Gypsy and Roma Families when dealing with complaints.
